Director of Data - Remote

  • Remote
    • Ontario, Ontario, Canada

Job description

Time Doctor is a productivity analytics platform used by thousands of companies worldwide to measure, understand, and improve how work gets done. With over 150 team members across 45+ countries, we’re fully remote, async-first, and deeply global in how we operate.

We’re looking for a Director of Data - Remote who combines strategic clarity with sharp execution—someone who turns data into product value, business impact, and team alignment across time zones.

What You’ll Own

You’ll lead and scale a 7+ person global team (data analysts, engineers, scientists) across two key tracks:

Customer-Facing Data & Product Analytics

  • Drive the strategy and delivery of customer-facing reporting and analytics features

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define how data enhances our SaaS product

  • Launch embedded analytics, benchmarks, and insights that add real value for users

Data-Driven Business Enablement

  • Build scalable data pipelines and models that power GTM, Revenue, Finance, and Exec decision-making

  • Partner across functions to prioritize insights that drive growth and efficiency

  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable, and reliable data

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the full data roadmap—internal analytics and external reporting

  • Design and scale modern data infrastructure (warehouse, pipelines, modeling, governance)

  • Champion data quality, security, and reliability at scale

  • Balance long-term vision with early wins—build trust by delivering fast and iterating

  • Lead a remote, async-first team—driving clarity, accountability, and performance

  • Communicate clearly in written and async formats (Loom, Notion, Slack updates)

  • Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to embed data into every decision

  • Guide initiatives like experimentation, segmentation, predictive modeling, and AI

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years leading data teams in B2B SaaS, ideally in product-led companies

  • Proven experience building customer-facing analytics within a SaaS product

  • Strong prioritization and strategic thinking—able to make trade-offs and explain them

  • Confident communicator who thrives in async, distributed environments

  • Deep understanding of modern data stacks (Snowflake, dbt, Looker/Tableau, Python, AWS)

  • Experience influencing execs and motivating ICs across functions

  • Bonus: Embedded analytics, monetizing data, or leading AI/ML initiatives

Why Join Us?

  • 100% remote team that values async autonomy and flexibility

  • Join a mission-driven company shaping the future of work

  • Strong product-market fit with tens of thousands of users—and growing

  • Work with a global, humble, high-performing team

  • Competitive compensation and 30+ days PTO

Ready to Apply?

If you’re excited to define what “data-driven” truly means in a global SaaS environment—and you’re ready to move fast and lead with clarity—we’d love to meet you.
